I'd be very curious about this issue. Because we can see totally difference between stagerring society. So far, all I can say, the more money I have,
the higher tendency to get expensive things.

When I was living with mazda 626 pm, I wish I could buy the cheapest good reaper, but with that money, I can't afford it.

Now, with 5 figure income, I wish I could have more,
so I can buy worth RM 4million of house and estate at Planters Haven.

Life will be comfortable if you have your love ones around no matter how much money you're making.

Money is just a devil to make us greedy and forget about the most important thing in life, that is love. :-D

But my desktop book says
Quote:
What is a "comfortable life" ? "Comfortable" is subjective, so on different levels of income, there different levels of comfort, and life adjusts itself .... A labourer earning RM500.00 per month with wife and two kids to support and living in a hut may be more comfortable than someone earning RM10,000 per month with wife and two kids and maids and living in a condo....It depends on your Values, Attitudes, Needs and Expectations...

lol @ Tuguldurmaa. Reminded me of Bold's video with the young hobos.

As for the ultimate answer to this question: You can never have enough money or power. lol. It really depends on time, place, condition etc... Instead of how much, we should discuss about how to.. imo.

Sarcastic answer for stupid question. Well, the 1st post was nice quote from yahoo answer. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index ... 833AAih3ox
I think there is no standard about that issue. It's just about personal satisfaction and stupidity. And there is mongolian saying "t*n*g hunii dotor uujim". If you are stupid enough to satisfy with monthly income of 100 USD, that's just fine. But if you aren't, then that is a problem.
The more we earn, the more we need.
:-D

Why save? When you can invest?
Does anyone of you know the concept of passive income? It's money earned without working - comes from investments.

That's comfortable living in my opinion, even if I'm earning $1,000,000 a week working 7 days a week, I wouldn't call it comfortable living unless I invest in passive income.

Ones shall define this with different thoughts. by meaning "we" I assume you meant living with another?
As for my comfort for 'we', it shall be an amount that my spouse could not drain to finish. :frog:

the term "comfortable life" is subjective! So, my def is like " decent apartment in Upper East/West Side and enough money to buy me things from Barneys every weekend! " I know that sounds shallow, but you get the idea!

Maybe somebody think money=love. one way money is important of life but another way money is just paper. Just little paper. but love is intangible power. Love makes me happy, powerfull. so Love need money, Money need the love.
Sometimes I think why we should work for money. Why we should work for just paper. :hehe: ,

like you said, the more you earn the more expensive stuff you buy

as long as I have my own apartment and car, I won't bother saving more than 30% of my salary

Money should only be the means to living a fulfilling life, if you are scarmbling to pay rent every month, how can you live your dreams and find the meaning of life right? At least the meaning of your life ...

if you're referring to my answer, i didn't mean renting a place or getting mortgages. im sure you're already aware of the fact that most people in Mongolia just make the full payment to buy an apartment. i guess in the countries like the US and Europe, the only way is to get a mortgage unless you're rich

I wasnt referring to your post, but yeah of course, I think one should be able to live in the type of neighborhood they want, buying the things they are passionate about etc .... money should only be the means to fulfilling your dreams and passion, your inner truth, watever sends you over the edge ....

However, just living and working for money and a rich lifestyle- thats a sad life ...
