I recently watched 'What Would Jesus Buy' and was very impressed- there's nothing like a little dose of Rev Billy et al to show up the Big Boys (TM) as the grasping, Orwellian-wannabe bozos that they are! It was also a very poignant piece of work- watching this at a time when we are dealing with the side-affects of endless credit and predatory practices, I couldn't help but wince.

Over here, people are very much cottoning on to the idea of buying independent- with the tough economic conditions, people are very aware of the importance of supporting jobs with their hard-earned euro. For my own part, I work as part of a art and design market, so I'm always glad when people choose our handmade and locally made work. I've been there two years and have been strongly influenced to choose the independent, local, ethical, handmade and one-off options in my own life. It has definitely enriched my life in too many ways to count.
